Dr. Stefurak is a Professor of Counseling Psychology and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies, Research & External Relations in the College of Education & Professional Studies at the University of South Alabama. He began his career as a middle school special education teacher for severely emotionally and behaviorally disabled students. He has accrued 20 years of experience consulting with schools, juvenile courts and child welfare organizations on methods to empower, guide and restore youth placed at risk. He has an abiding concern for the mental health of the human services workforce.
