Sean joined the Innovation Learning Center in August 2022 after working as a graduate assistant for the ILC. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in Speech Pathology and Audiology with a focus on typical and atypical child language development. Sean's interest in learning technology stems from a lifelong curiosity with computers and his experiences using tools and finding solutions as both a student and a teacher. He has previously worked as a writing center consultant with both first and second-language English speakers. Sean is also an enthusiastic advocate for the use and development of free and open-source software (FOSS) in research and education, as well as engagement in open access data and publishing. When not at the ILC, he spends his time reading and writing, studying languages, playing video games, and working on computers. Sean has a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Alabama and a M.A. in English Linguistics from Eastern Michigan University.
