Workshop: Inquiry Science Using Simulations: Maximizing Science Instruction Using Limited Resources
Wednesday June 26, 2024 8:45am - 11:45am CDT
Teaching science using inquiry practices through hands-on learning experiences is the ideal pedagogical strategy. However, accessing resources may be difficult due to budgetary constraints. Online simulations offer an opportunity to bring experiential learning into the classroom. This session will explore how inquiry-based simulations can be used to engage learners in the classroom. Session attendees will participate in inquiry-based simulation activities and discuss ideas for modifying their biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science lessons to integrate simulations for optimal learning.

A lesson on how to introduce Forensic Science to Urban High School Students
Friday June 28, 2024 10:00am - 11:00am CDT
Forensic Science is a science elective that interest many students. But what I realized was how many students do not know how much the law and science work together in this subject area. This session I will give some lessons that helped my students see the good and bad ways that the legal system and science can convict or exonerate an individual.
