During the 21st century, thus far, K-12 teachers have faced a once-in-a-century pandemic, politicization of their jobs, cohorts of students with academic deficits, a crisis in leadership, and an exodus of their peers. Teaching remains a profession that requires heroic psychological and spiritual fortitude given these challenges. How do we find ourselves in the midst of this, and create a professional life of joy, empathy, thriving, and competence rather than demoralization, exhaustion, detachment, and cynicism?
